On June 20, 2013, Parkdale Primary School kindly held a charity event day to celebrate their indigenous theme this term where all the grade 3 & 4 kids participated in a circuit of fun games which included a huge skipping rope, tug of war, tunnel ball & basketball games. The kids also included in the circuit the donation of balls and gold coins to the Have a Ball Foundation. Young Lachie from grade 4 did a great job dressing up as the Marshall Batteries ‘Marshall Man’ and handed out chocolates to the kids after they donated. The 5 classes did an amazing job in donating a total of 103 balls & raised $194 for the foundation. The balls will be sent up to remote schools in Arhnem Land in the N.T as well as Cape York in northern QLD. All the money will be used to help remote schools with vital supplies or equipment at their school such as band aids, anteseptic ointment and sporting equipment. These schools will be thrilled with their new equipment and all the kids at Parkdale Primary School should be very proud of their efforts as this will make a difference in many kids lives who need a helping hand. It will bring some big smiles to the faces of these kids when they receive their donations and will also encourage them to attend school where they can participate in healthy sporting activities as well as getting a good education.

Special thanks to Nerida McIntosh for organising a wonderful event and for the staff and all the grade 3 & 4 students at Parkdale Primary School for supporting the foundation.
