On Thursday 25 October 2012, Star of the Sea College in Brighton participated in a ‘bring a ball day’ for the “Have a Ball Foundation”. Students were asked to bring in a ball to enable us to distribute sporting balls to a number of schools located in very remote outback areas in the Northern Territory.  There was an amazing display of generosity on the day with 517 items of sporting equipment donated which included all types of sporting balls, footy boots, soccer uniforms, rackets and nets. The Year 7 students also took the time out to write some beautiful personalised cards to give to the kids in the remote schools which will add a wonderful personal touch when the balls are delivered. I would like to thank all parents, students and teachers from Star of the Sea for supporting the Foundation and a special thanks to Chris Wigney, Mary Harmes and the girls from the Social Justice committee for organising the event. Also thank you to Electra for her special undercover costume work. You should all be extremely proud of your wonderful achievement & generosity!
